I have used eQuest successfully for years and would like to expand my energy management skills by learning to use EnergyPlus. I have found some Youtube videos by Helix showing how to use OpenStudio to create simple building geometry and run EnergyPlus without using Sketchup. I do not want to purchase Sketchup. The current version of OpenStudio I downloaded does not appear to open independently. Where can I download a version of OpenStudio that works without Sketchup?

@kathryn.kerns@bceengineers.com does this post answer your question? Essentially, there is an OpenStudio SDK (Software Development Kit) for scripting work vs. an OpenStudio Application (the user interface you saw in the Helix videos) to install separately. You can use floorspace.js to edit geometry in the OpenStudio Application without needing SketchUp, similar to eQuest.
